Social Economic Development

AL Indigo is passionate about supporting initiatives to uplift communities and create opportunities for the unemployed disadvantaged South Africans desperate to enter and add value to our economy.

With an unemployment rate as high as South Africa’s, we believe that it’s our responsibility as a Corporate to  develop programs in support of Government’s drive to reduce unemployment and grow our economy through the majority of South Africans.

AL Indigo’s latest enterprise development (ED) and socio economic development (SED) initiative involved the donation of office furniture valued at R333,000 to a non-profit organisation called, Refilwe Community Project (www.refilwe.org).

Refilwe runs several SED and ED projects within the community North of Johannesburg, with a strong focus on child-care, community care and enterprise development since 2005.

The AL Indigo office furniture donated has been refurbished and sold by Refilwe with the profits being invested in the upliftment of the communities and development of enterprises supported by Refilwe.

AL Indigo has also been involved in supporting other projects including Reach for a Dream and children’s foundations.
